Demonstrator Contract
TO: ALL DEMONSTRATORS AND ARTISANS OF “LOST ARTS”
We are inviting demonstrators of lost arts to participate in our 20th Annual “OLDEN DAYS” FESTIVAL to be held August 28 & 29, 2010 at our Club Grounds located at 23946 State Highway 3, just 2 miles west of Junction 109 in southwestern Jersey County. Our festival is part of the AGELESS IRON CIRCUIT and is similar to a county fair, church social and family reunion all rolled into one. We are striving to preserve the past and getting future generations interested in “how Grandma & Grandpa used to do it”. We have been averaging 3,500 visitors the past few years, based on actual gate receipts.
Please come join us for these two days fun. If you have a lost art to demonstrate, just complete the enclosed contract, so we can plan space for you. and also advertise that you will be a part of the festival. Return by June 30, 2010 to: Tom Bechtold, 12894 Fessler Road, Dow, IL 62022.
Setup will be ONE DAY ONLY, Friday, August 27, 2010 and should be in place by 8:00 p.m. EVERYTHING must be in place by 7:00 a.m. on Saturday. We would appreciate it if you stayed for the duration of the festival – you add to the “flavor” of it. You are to be responsible for your own shelter if needed as this is a “rain or shine” event.
Demonstrators of lost arts are N0T CHARGED for space. You will receive 2 souvenir buttons that will get two people and one vehicle on the grounds for the duration of the festival. Additional buttons may purchased for $4.00. RV’S ARE ALLOWED and will required to park in a designated area. Cost of electricity is $5.00 per weekend. Since you are classed as “heritage” we cannot allow the RV to be parked by your display.
